How does Umbraco workflow work in practice?
We'll outline a real-life example for using Umbraco Workflow for you. In this example, the editorial team includes Emma, Lucas, and Jasmine
- Emma manages Dutch content
- Lucas ensures that the texts are translated correctly into English
- Jasmine as editor, is responsible for the results on the website.
Suppose there are changes to the privacy policy!
Emma changes the text in the CMS. It modifies both the Dutch and
English version. The Dutch version sends them directly to Jasmine for review.
Jasmine checks the changes and marks them as “approved”. The new
content is published on the website.
For the English version, Emma sends a review request to Lucas so that he can
can check the translation. He discovers a translation error and rejects the adjustment, with
added a comment to Emma what needs to be improved.
Emma improves the translation and sends the review to Lucas again. Lucas approves it this time and the adjustment will be forwarded to Jasmine for her review.
Jasmine also approves the change. The English content is published on the website.
